History
NEKAAA General Public Transportation started in August 2015 with only one vehicle. Since 2015 we have received FTA Award of Excellence with 81% increase of ridership of 1,924 riders (2015-2016); 111% increase of ridership of 2,639 riders (2016-2017); KPTA Award – Transit Service of the Year (2017); Business Appreciation Award of Merit (2017); KDOT Award 5339 AIC Grant to build a Multi-Use Transit/Agency Facility (2019); KDOT AIC Grant for Clean Technology Expansion (Electric vehicle and charging stations – 2022) and have expanded vehicles along the way to a total of 9 vehicles in our fleet. There are 4 vehicles located in Brown County, 3 vehicles located in Jackson County and 2 vehicles located in Washington County.
